Scuba diving is a fun adventure activity, learning how to become one with the water is but the start of an exciting journey into the underwater world. Port Alfred offers some great fishing with local catches include Cape Salmon, Cob, Geelbek and plenty of reef fish. At Outdoor Focus we believe that everyone is an Adventurer and we offer many different outdoor activities to help you explore this inner need for adventure. We teach you to scuba dive to explore underwater wreck sites, visit pristine eco systems underwater water and put you in a position to experience the privilege of swimming with a school of dolphins or feeling humbled by the magnificence of a Manta Ray swimming past. Above water we take you on the ride of your life on our Superduck through the Kowie River Mouth and East Beach surf where our sole purpose is to get your Adrenalin flowing and wet you as much as possible. For a more chill day you can explore the upper reaches of the Kowie River from our Synergy double canoes, be sure to take the binoculars to better see the incredible bird life we have on the Kowie. If you are looking for a dry day you can tackle the sand dunes on our pristine East Beach on our custom made sand boards, or explore similar dunes along our coastline from horseback. For those not wanting the magic to stop we take you from Openwater Diver up to Diving Instructor and we teach you to skipper a dive boat making a very powerful combination when entering the job market. All skippers operating a commercial diving or dive charter vessel are required to have this endorsement added to their Small Vessel Certificate of Competence before SAMSA considers the vessel to be properly and safely manned. If a candidate doesn’t have a diving leadership qualification he or she has to complete an exam for the dive boat skipper endorsement.
